Vice President, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Strategy & Growth
The NFL Media Group is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Strategy and Growth to lead its domestic direct-to-consumer (DTC) business. This new leadership role will be responsible for setting the strategic vision, driving business growth, developing product strategy, and managing the end-to-end P&L. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving business growth in the digital space. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of NFL Media’ DTC offering, working closely with senior leadership and key partners across the League to develop and implement strategies to achieve ambitious growth expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Vision & Roadmap Development – develop the long-term strategic vision and partner with key stakeholders to shape and refine a multi-year DTC product roadmap, ensuring that our individual platform strategies are aligned with business objectives and fan needs
- Drive Subscriber & Revenue Growth – lead team to identify, prioritize, and execute strategies that drive subscriber and revenue growth
- User Acquisition & Engagement – collaborate across multiple teams (including Marketing, Product, and Content) to develop and execute high-impact strategies for user acquisition and engagement.
- Data-Driven Decision Making – utilize advanced analytics and reporting to inform business strategies and decision-making. Lead the development and implementation of a data-driven culture across the team to drive insights and optimize performance
- P&L Management – own full P&L accountability for DTC business unit, optimizing for strategic value, revenue growth, and operating margin; optimize resource allocation and budget management to maximize ROI, APV, and LTV.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – partner with cross-functional teams across Product, Technology, Content, Marketing, and other departments to ensure cohesive DTC strategy alignment and effective end-to-end execution
- Executive Communication – author and shape high-impact communication to ownership, C-suite executives, and senior leadership on a regular basis
- Team Management - lead and inspire a team of internal and external experts dedicated to product growth and excellence; provide mentorship, strategic direction, and support to ensure the team achieves its objectives and contributes to the overall success of the organization
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record (10+ years) of leadership in media strategy and/or business operations
- Extensive experience in Media and/or Consumer sectors; strong preference for DTC experience
- Strong track record of leading complex projects and delivering product roadmaps
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven cross-departmental collaborations
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility
- Strong analytical skills with a quantitative approach to problem solving
- Ability to identify and analyze various data sources; high level of comfort with data ambiguity
- Exceptional Power-Point and presentation development skills with a keen eye to storytelling
- Deep understanding of media industry trends, digital content strategies, and audience behavior
- Demonstrated ability to understand and evaluate tradeoff for business and technical concepts
- Ability to navigate corporate requirements of multiple stakeholders and decision makers
- Experience with quantitative consumer research (writing surveys, developing inputs, analytics)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
- Deep understanding of the direct-to-consumer landscape
- Overall knowledge of sports, and passion for the NFL specifically
- Prior work experience with the NFL and/or another sports league a strong plus
Terms /Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role may occasionally require work during nights, weekends and/or holidays.
Salary / Pay Range
- This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$225,000 - $300,000 USD
