About the role: 

We are hiring a Digital Designer to join our team in Montreal support our insurance client. We want Designers who know how to express their ideas clearly and confidently. Ready for hands-on projects at every stage—from brainstorming creative concepts and developing original content, to participating in client presentations and ensuring deadlines are met. We want you to create amazing work, and we also want you to eventually mentor junior designers and help shape their personal skills and design perspective. We are seriously collaborative, so Designers need to collaborate across disciplines on a daily basis, from copywriting to design to client services, all while maintaining high standards for original concepts and detailed execution.

What you will be doing: 

  • Create compelling visual design solutions that address strategic business and brand objectives across a range of digital media, including online ads and video, social media, and print
  • “Hands-on” ability to own the work, be responsible and accountable from concept through production
  • Develop and deliver work that elevates and strengthens our clients’ brand appeal and perception with consumers, demonstrated through a strong visual and typographical aesthetic
  • Collaborate with copywriters, producers, project managers, and other creative contributors, to achieve optimal finished product
  • Contribute to a culture of continual creative improvement, innovation, and design excellence
  • Develop and maintain solid, collaborative relationships with agency colleagues

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience, strong design skills with a focus on digital, with a background in print
  • This role sits in the Client office in Montreal on a hybrid schedule
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, including (at minimum) Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, PPT (video/motion experience is a plus)
  • Production knowledge of digital and print standards and requirements
  • Experience working within Adobe Acrobat for review & markups
  • Ability to effectively integrate design feedback/critique into work
  • Strength in working directly with clients as needed
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proactive and independent, able to effectively time-manage projects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
  • Natural, respectful collaborator across all departments and functions
  • Conceptual ability
  • Strong visual aesthetic
  • Progressive portfolio of past work
  • Motion/Video and illustration experience is an asset
