Senior UI Designer/Digital Design Lead

Role: Digital Design Lead (Figma expert)

About the role:

We are looking for a talented and versatile interaction and interface designer, to join our in-house studio at a global leader in the drinks industry, working on one of their most premium whisky brands. With a strong understanding of user experience through multiple service touch points, spanning platforms and customer types to meet business objectives. You will bring user concepts to life through beautifully crafted user interfaces to deliver smart, desirable and engaging experiences across the entire service and digital platforms. In addition, we want this role to be a true digital brand guardian, supporting the development of the brand as it moves towards a more luxury focused audience. At IIG, we build agency teams to work in-house in partnership with brands. This role will be sitting within the digital and social team we’ve created, working with a range of global-level clients and local markets around the world. We work within a hybrid set-up, which includes being present at the OLIVER office in Rosebery Avenue two days a week.  

What you will be doing:

  • Work as part of a team that supports global and regional clients in creating and delivering outstanding digital products and websites, that drive our brand reputation and deliver business results
  • Develop user centred and engaging responsive web layouts, owning accessibility and the component library to ensure ease of use by developers
  • Brilliantly execute within brand guidelines whilst thoughtfully working with the Creative Director to optimise our brand assets / tone / expression / guidelines
  • Collaborate across the business with regional and global clients to deliver all creative requirements across all channels for our clients - digital ads, event materials, website, sales material, videos, etc.
  • Work with our hub and offshore designers to support them in rolling out work across other locales and pages, reviewing and ensuring work meets our high quality standards   
  • Create and work with digital design systems, delivering impeccable files to front-end and back end developers.  
  • Ensure high quality, coherent brand execution across every touch point through design structure and templates
  • Be able to create rational/conceptual presentations in Keynote or Power Point, and present internally or to clients. 
  • Presenting your work internally and to clients  
  • Keeping up to date with current interaction design trends and technologies 
  • You will contribute towards Oliver’s drive for sustainability and change. We’d hope anyone joining our team would share our motivation to do better in terms of sustainability. We are always learning, so we look forward to you bringing your own creative approaches to the tackling the industry's sustainability problem​ 
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 7-9 years of graphic design experience working in a digital agency with Visual Arts BS/BA degree a plus 
  • Experience working with beverage / spirits brands or retail/ FMCG brands or luxury brands is a plus
  • A portfolio demonstrating high quality interaction design
  • Solid design fundamentals: an understanding of digital design systems, alignment, grids, typography, illustration and animation as well as an appreciation of front-end implementation
  • Proficiency in design applications including Figma, Photoshop and associated prototyping tools
  • A team player and possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships 
  • You can be the change - you prioritise environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability and how that translates into your day-to-day role​
