Role:  Account Director

Location:  London, England, United Kingdom (On-site 2-3 days a week from our HQ/ client offices)

 

About the role: 

Working in partnership with our client, we are looking for an Account Director who wants to be part of a pioneering in-house global account. With our globally renowned client, famous for its world class alcoholic beverages, we are building the best in-house agency in the world integrating award winning creativity, martech and AI solutions. 

The Account Director will manage a B2B brand with a £1 million account, covering Data, CRM, and Website Marketing. Key responsibilities include translating client strategy into actionable plans, overseeing projects, ensuring timely delivery, and strengthening client-customer relationships. Collaboration is crucial, requiring at least three days onsite in London and engagement with a global team. You'll report to the Business Director and be supported in your career growth.   

What you will be doing: 

  • Client services: 
    • Collaborate with OLIVER to align account strategies with the client’s commercial goals. 
    • Build trust-based client relationships with an effective engagement strategy. 
    • Ensure consistent brand representation and act as a brand guardian. 
    • Identify growth opportunities, propose solutions, and advise on budget spending. 
    • Create strategic presentations showcasing OLIVER’s work for clients. 
    • Negotiate solutions and diplomatically manage account conflicts. 
    • Provide thought leadership to support client objectives and learning. 
    • Uphold Service Level Agreements, escalating issues and improving service levels. 
    • Demonstrate service value and report on achieving objectives. 
    • Identify and escalate relationship risks with solutions. 
  • Processes: 
    • Ensure compliance with OLIVER and client procedures. 
    • Train clients on OLIVER’s methods, highlighting their benefits. 
    • Identify and brief the operations team on process optimizations for efficiency and creativity. 
  • Project delivery: 
    • Lead project planning and prioritize tasks with clients and teams. 
    • Conduct weekly client and internal status meetings. 
    • Oversee all projects, ensuring timely delivery and addressing delays. 
    • Work with clients on quality briefs and ensure team alignment. 
    • Collaborate with departments to maintain brand consistency and elevate work. 
    • Coordinate with account leads for campaign efficiency and asset reuse. 
    • Manage account invoicing and monitor project progress. 
    • Identify and escalate at-risk projects, collaborating on solutions. 
    • Coach teams for excellent service levels. 
  • Commercial growth: 
    • Ensure account growth by meeting commercial targets. 
    • Identify and pursue growth opportunities aligned with client objectives. 
    • Provide weekly commercial reports on accounts. 
    • Assist the Business Director in developing account strategies. 
  • Team development and inspiration: 
    • Share knowledge to drive team learning. 
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and client-focused culture. 
    • Inspire high-quality project delivery. 
    • Provide constructive feedback for team development. 
    • Monitor and enhance team performance with leadership support. 
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Over 5 years in client service and account management. 
  • Expertise in growing e-commerce and working with B2B audiences. 
  • Strong CRM, web, and data strategy skills; Salesforce experience preferred. 
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple projects. 
  • Experience with global brands, ideally in the alcoholic beverage industry. 
  • Skilled in managing diverse media and digital projects. 
  • Proven leadership and collaboration in cross-agency teams. 
  • Adaptable in high-growth, dynamic environments; passion for new technologies. 
  • Ability to build trust-based client relationships and deliver creative, effective work. 
  • Strong commercial acumen and consistent target achievement. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Proficient in budget management, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
