Role:  Senior Designer

Location:  Nottingham, England, United Kingdom

 

About the role: 

Working with health, wellness and beauty categories, the Senior Designer creates impactful crafted communications, smart ideas and develops design best practices. This role delivers a vast range of marketing and branded material; from campaign creation, social assets, identity, presentations, whilst also leading and mentoring other designers across the network. You are comfortable as a self-managing designer, working directly with clients to answer their marketing needs with stand-out creative outputs. You thrive independently and seek to exercise your creative instinct in a fast-paced environment. You have a curious mind but a perfectionist’s twitch. You are invested in the accomplishments of all, not just the self. You must be comfortable taking design projects from brief through to completion, providing new ideas and creativity and producing designs to fit the client’s brief and exacting standards.

What you will be doing: 

  • Develop creative and graphic concepts (for digital and print) in collaboration with assigned teams to meet the aims of the brief
  •  Have great design sense and a confident approach to language idea generation
  •  Illustrates concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
  •  The ability to interpret marketing ideas and turn them into a high quality visuals
  •  Regular creation of speculative ideas
  •  Starting to challenge briefs and creative direction (where appropriate)
  •  Can self-edit and refine their own thinking before internal reviews
  •  Can support projects throughout all stages, from initial concept development, up to production
  •  Interact regularly with creative leadership, creative partners and other team members as needed for completion of assigned projects
  •  Receive feedback from management and uses that feedback to grow skills
  •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
  •  Help with any design emergencies across our network that need to be done right first time
  • Provide production support to produce technically correct, digital or print ready mechanicals for release
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues

What you need to be great in this role: 

  •  Strong project management skills, organizational skills and time-management skills
  •  Can present and sell their own work alongside articulate and intelligent creative rationales
  •  Keeps up to date with current design thinking and trends
  •  Starting to become a sector and brand specialist
  •  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to listen for understanding to execute the work according to the customers’ needs
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills - able to express themselves and the proven ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships
  •  Skills to lead and brief designers, offering constructive feedback allowing them to push the quality of the work
  •  Proactive, positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic
  •  Can confidently lead a shoot
  • You can be the change - you prioritise environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability and how that translates into your day-to-day role
