Associate Director - Cross Border

Razorpay was founded by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur in 2014. Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India. 

We are a full-stack financial services organisation, committed to helping Indian businesses with comprehensive and innovative payment and business banking solutions built over robust technology to address the entire length and breadth of the payment and banking journey for any business. Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital). 

The Role:

In this role, the person would be responsible for PnL of the Export cross-border charter for Razorpay. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Business Development and Sales:
    • Lead the development and execution of the business development strategy for Razorpay's export cross-border charter
    • Generate and qualify leads in customer segments requiring cross-border payment solutions, including e-commerce exporters, service providers, and freelancers
    • Develop new lead generation opportunities through direct selling and partner relations
    • Effectively pitch and acquire new customers for Razorpay's cross-border payment solutions
    • Achieve and exceed targeted sales goals
  • Market Expansion and Product Development:
    • Identify and evaluate new verticals for market expansion in the cross-border fintech space
    • Collaborate with product teams to provide market insights and drive product improvements
    • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain Razorpay's competitive edge
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Coordinate with multiple internal teams, including banking, marketing, and product, to achieve business objectives
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and key clients
    • Represent Razorpay at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Customer Engagement:
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention
    • Address complex customer issues and provide high-level support when needed
    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Mentor and guide team members to achieve individual and team goals
    • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the cross-border payments team

Mandatory Skills for Qualification:

  • 8-15 years of professional experience in Business Development, Account Management or Sales
  • Proven experience in the Payments Industry, Banking, or Fintech sector
  • Deep understanding of cross-border payment systems, regulations, and market trends is preferable
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage high-performing teams
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven track record of P&L management and driving business growth through strategic planning and execution
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in interpreting financial data and using CRM systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred
