Role Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Workplace Operations, this critical role will oversee Health & Safety, Energy and Sustainability initiatives and procedures. We are looking for someone to be accountable for working with the Management Team to help SIE work on our Road to Zero environmental strategy.
The ideal candidate must be able to build relationships, achieve consensus when leaders have diverse opinions, drive decision making, and communicate information quickly and effectively so the physical workspace can support a dynamic workforce.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy across the EMEA region.
- Prepare for EHS audits.
- Review and update site training matrix and arrange training for team members (first aid, fire warden, etc.).
- Manage eLearning H&S training portal.
- Conduct DSE workstation assessments.
- Monitor the accident book and report any reportable incidents under RIDDOR.
- Report on energy usage, including entering all waste and energy data into the energy reporting platform.
- Advise on EHS matters for ad-hoc projects and events.
- Compile, review, and update risk assessments.
- Implement new technologies, find cost reduction opportunities, manage initiatives, and engage with cross-functional teams regarding topics associated with energy consumption saving, energy-related capital projects, renewable energy and carbon emissions
- Serve as the lead liaison on the development and installation phases of energy & sustainability projects
- Monitor energy consumption, water consumption, and waste streams to increase efficiencies
- Collaborate with ESG colleagues
- Any other duties as seen reasonable by the Workplace Operations Director
What we’re looking for:
- NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety certification
- Proven years of experience in a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is advantageous
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK H&S Legislation
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of employees and external vendors
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and handle competing priorities
- Strategic thinker capable of analyzing business needs and defining solutions
- Proficiency in analysing complex data and disseminating valuable information
- Adept at functioning in a fast-paced environment, anticipating problems, and taking initiative with minimal guidance
