CNC Operator
ReconCraft is seeking a CNC Operator. The CNC Operator will be responsible for receiving part drawings from our CNC Programmer/Machinist, determine if any specialized tooling or fixtures are required, and then manufacture the parts with our New CNC machining equipment. The CNC Operator will set up the machine, verify the program and run the parts while maintaining the highest quality. The lead CNC Operator will also be responsible for any QA/QC checks on final parts, as well as documenting dimensions and QC hold points in a traveler. The individual in this role will report to the CNC Programmer/Machinist and will be involved in a weekly scheduling meeting to discuss workload and priorities to match production schedules for all projects.
This hands-on role requires exceptional competence in all phases of CNC machining operations.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Utilize machining and assembly drawings to understand various setups and critical features and dimensions on completed parts.
- Organize parts to be completed by the various machines and schedule priority.
- Work closely with the CNC Programmer/Machinist to improve the machining workflows while continuously improving procedures and processes for complex and unique designs.
- Thorough understanding of different tools, equipment, and software that will simplify and expedite the machining processes.
- Capture and document red lines on drawings.
- Other tasks as required to support the company’s objectives and growth.
- Have a full understanding of setting up tools and monitoring the wear.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Citizenship:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 5-8 years’ experience in a CNC machine shop environment operating vertical mills and horizontal turning centers.
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, understanding drawing symbols, reading flag notes and general notes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read production travelers, and adhere to standard safety and quality control procedures.
- Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy while working within a fast-paced production environment.
- Preferred Job Requirements:
- Machine tool training certificates
- 3 axis required, 4 and 5 axis skills preferred.
- Knowledge of Fanuc G-Code for mills preferred.
- Can load and set tools on machine via probe system
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Standing for a long period of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required.
- Ability to work long hours, when required, to meet deadlines and other deliverables.
