Data Insights Enablement Manager

The NFL Data and Analytics team is seeking a data insights enablement person to partner with multiple business and technical teams.  The Manager of Data Insights Enablement will work on the Health and Safety Data team within the broader Data and Analytics Organization. This person will be responsible for governing multiple major workstreams on the Health and Safety Data team and some on the Football Analytics Data team. In addition to governance, this person is expected to support requirements related to enabling insights for our stakeholders and data consumers. Finally, this person is expected to lead the effort to drive communication across the H&S data team, connect dots on requirements and insights delivery across the team and organize the group to ensure we are holding ourselves accountable to major and minor deliverables. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the UI roadmap with Zebra Technologies to effectively track player equipment
    • Consistently ideate to drive new pilots of potential technology enhancements
  • Govern and generate requirements to enable insights on key workstreams related to equipment tracking, footwear research and H&S and Football analytics
    • Run key workstream meetings, ownership over agenda, documenting tasks, action items and owners on each.
    • Foster relationships with Equipment staff with each club to better identify ways to improve processes and performance.
    • Identify opportunities to enable insights to stakeholders and Clubs, turn these opportunities into requirements and track progress
    • Develop tools, best practices, and documentation for governing our workstreams and collecting requirements for stakeholders
  • Lead effort to organize H&S Data team workstreams, deliverables and outstanding tasks
    • Find ways to improve communication across the team
    • Centralize documentation
  • Lead the interaction with external Equipment manufacturing companies in partnership with Health and Safety team members
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge building workstream requirements, clear ability to creatively connect dots across other workstreams to effectively drive insight enablement for stakeholders. Very strong organizational skills around requirements gathering, task assignment, implementation management, and workstream governance/accountability.
  • Facilitate weekly sessions with key stakeholders to initiate and define project goals, scope, deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with several senior stakeholders within Data and Analytics to prioritize, and determine internal resource capacity to ensure on-time completion of deliverables
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to effectively manage technical team members

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Degree in engineering is preferred, or relevant data management experience
  • 8-10 years of experience governing workstreams, building out requirements and identifying comprehensive solutions for stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of the game of football and player health and safety
  • Experience in dynamic working environments that require flexibility and adaptability to new and adjusting workstreams
  • Highest personal and professional integrity and strong work ethics.
  • Experience working with external vendors to facilitate and support their project workstreams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to deliver strategic and business goals
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Strong sense of purpose with a passion for living in the details and exceeding expectations
  • Problem-solver with solution-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to take charge, manage program/project team members, identify solutions, and provide direction
  • Process oriented and highly organized
  • Experience using visual tools/technologies to ensure transparency in tracking project deliverables, key milestones and requirements. Ie jira, confluence, excel, powerpoint, etc.
  • Has strong planning, communication, and presentation skills, and the capability to listen and influence
  • Willingness to travel >10% of the time

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$125,000 - $150,000 USD

This role requires onsite presence at an NFL office or stadium location, and remote and/or hybrid working options are not offered.
