About the team:  

The PlayStation Studios Insights & Personalization team supports the growing number of game development studios owned by PlayStation, as well as PlayStation’s teams commercial go-to-market teams. We provide Research, Analytics, and Personalization tools to empower our game studios to make the best possible games for our players.  

Reporting to the Director of Analytics, the candidate will support our Publishing leadership team with reporting & insights for data-informed portfolio management.  

Responsibilities 

  • Develop automated reporting and dashboards to track portfolio-wide game performance, including frontline commercial performance, player engagement, monetization trends, and retention metrics. 

  • Analyze marketing & commercial activations to assess their impact on game sales, in-game behavior, and long-term player engagement, delivering actionable recommendations. 

  • Apply mastery of game analytics frameworks (e.g., acquisition, engagement, monetization, and retention models) to evaluate content performance and identify growth opportunities. 

  • Identify and synthesize emerging trends in the portfolio and across the overall videogames market, providing strategic insights on player behavior, content & commercial strategies, and competitive market dynamics. 

  • Collaborate with Studio Business Group’s Commercial Finance organization, to complement your analysis & reporting with deep financial Roi and financial viability assessments for commercial activity in support of the Studio Business Group’s content portfolio  

  • Support forecasting and planning efforts by integrating historical game performance, market benchmarks, and player lifecycle analysis. 

  • Advise on publishing analytics best practices, aligning analytics insights with game development lifecycles and go-to-market strategies. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Publishing, Marketing, Commercial, Studios, and Live Ops to align on analytics priorities and influence publishing decisions. 

  • Work closely with stakeholders to contextualize insights within the creative vision and player experience, ensuring analytics supports both business goals and game quality. 

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives. 

  • Partner with data engineering teams to improve data accessibility, pipeline reliability, and reporting efficiency for game analytics. 

 

Requirements 

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, game analytics, or business intelligence, with a strong focus on game performance and game publishing strategy. 

  • Mastery of game analytics frameworks, including player acquisition, engagement, monetization, and retention modeling. 

  • Deep familiarity with game development lifecycles, publishing best practices, and stakeholder relationships across development, marketing, and commercial teams. 

  • Expertise in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) with experience building scalable dashboards and reports for game performance tracking. 

  • Strong analytical mindset, with experience measuring marketing effectiveness, content performance, and live service engagement. 

  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, with a track record of influencing game and publishing leadership. 

  • Understanding of commercial performance metrics such as sell-through, DAU/MAU trends, conversion rates, and revenue drivers. 

  • Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift). 

  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to distill key takeaways for executive audiences. 

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, balancing strategic and tactical work while supporting multiple stakeholders.  

  • Entrepreneurial, with high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity, and efficient with limited resources. 

  • Relationship builder, who can communicate at different levels of the organization effectively and is comfortable connecting with senior (commercial) stakeholders

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$178,000 - $267,000 USD
