Senior Coordinator, Location Sound
The NFL Location Sound Department is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Location Sound to oversee the technical and operational audio aspects of all Pre-Season Projects, Regular Season Games, and Special Events. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our audio production standards meet the expectations of NFL Films’ award-winning Field Acquisition Department.
The Senior Coordinator will manage and maintain all sound equipment inventory, developing and implementing a comprehensive management system that includes tracking gear utilization, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels. This individual will work closely with producers, cinematographers, and freelance audio professionals to ensure seamless execution of all audio operations including in-season game problem solving onsite at Super Bowl, NAB/Trade Shows, and Robo installs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee sound operations and equipment management for all production projects, including Pre-Season, Regular Season, and Special Events.
- Develop and maintain a robust and organized database of sound equipment, tracking inventory, maintenance needs, and equipment utilization.
- Ensure all gear is checked out, properly maintained, and ready for use in production.
- Collaborate with internal teams and freelance operators to ensure top-tier audio capture across all shoots.
- Assist with the installation and setup of robotic audio equipment for long-format projects.
- Communicate daily with production staff and freelance operators regarding ongoing and upcoming audio initiatives.
- Contribute to the growth of a collaborative, creative, and technically proficient culture within the Location Sound Department.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Communications, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of live event production and/or live theater experience.
- Dante Audio Certification.
- Experience with AirTable, FileMaker Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Specific Wireless Microphone experience with the Zaxcom RF and Recording system.
- Proficiency with the Sound Devices 4, 6, 8 and Scorpio Series Recorders.
- Demonstrated success in an administrative or coordination role, ideally within the entertainment or media industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, team-driven production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A passion for sports and storytelling through sound and visuals.
- Familiarity with NFL Films content is a strong plus.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift and transport pelican cases and other production equipment weighing 50-70 lbs.
- Regular movement of gear within the camera/audio department and warehouse as needed.
Travel
- This role requires traveling to Live Events which is 20% of the time.
Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position with a base expectation of 40 hours per week.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, particularly during football season or major production events.
Salary
$100,000 - $125,000 USD
