NFL Flag and Community Manager (Australia)

NFL Australia is looking for an NFL Flag and Community Manager to support the management, growth and execution of the NFL Flag participation program across Australia and New Zealand, helping to drive accelerated growth of the program within primary and secondary schools.

The NFL Flag Program Manager is responsible for defining and executing the NFL Flag growth strategy, managing local agencies, reporting, operational management of NFL Flag events (from event creation to execution) and relationship management with the local federation and sporting communities.

As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in the community sports environment, ideally with a background with a professional sports league or club as well as experience managing events from small and intimate to large scale. They should also have a strong knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand sports landscape, enabling the successful candidate to take the growth of Flag Football to new heights.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the NFL Australia General Manager and Director of Business Operations, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage and oversee the NFL Flag Football strategy, working close with agency leads to ensure consistent delivery and approach, expanding participation and pathways into the sport across Australia and New Zealand. 
  • Build and operate all NFL Flag Events across the country.
  • Support the set up and execution of an NFL Flag Community League.
  • Work closely with NFL partnerships leads and sponsors to create and deliver against flag sponsorship event activations.
  • Monitor and report on key events and community performance metrics and research. 

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience in an event or community sports management role
  • Sports/Entertainment experience preferred
  • A strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret insights and data to adapt strategies
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using PowerPoint, Canva, Excel and Word to develop presentations and budgets.
